Basic Types of FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearings
The basic types of FAG deep groove ball bearings include open, double-sided with seals, or double-sided with dust covers. For production requirements, sealed bearings feature grooves on the outer ring for mounting seals or dust covers, and may also be supplied as open bearings.
FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearing Tolerances
Standard tolerances apply to basic single-row deep groove ball bearings. Bearings manufactured to tighter tolerances are available upon customer request.
FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearing Clearance
Basic clearance groups are used for standard single-row deep groove ball bearings. Bearings with increased clearance can be supplied as required.
FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearing Cages
Basic types without a cage suffix in the designation feature stamped steel cages. Bearings with the suffix “M” incorporate solid brass cages guided by the balls.
FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearing Alignment
Due to the limited self-aligning capability of deep groove ball bearings, high concentricity of the bearing mounting surfaces is essential. Poor concentricity compromises smooth operation, increases bearing stress, and consequently reduces service life. To maintain additional stresses within permissible limits, deep groove ball bearings permit only minimal deflection angles, which also depend on the magnitude of the applied load.
