Ball spline

Ball spline

HIWIN ball splines are rolling guide components primarily composed of a nut, steel balls, and a retainer. By enabling the steel balls to roll in an infinite loop between the nut and retainer, the nut achieves high-precision linear motion. The steel balls on the ball spline feature an angular contact structure, allowing them to withstand both radial and torsional loads. The nut and bearing are integrally molded, enabling the ball spline to achieve high load capacity with a compact structure.

The ball spline incorporates three sets of load-bearing balls arranged in a face-to-face angular contact configuration. The balls undergo continuous, aligned cycling motion facilitated by the ball retainer. An optimized retainer design enables high-speed, high-acceleration/deceleration guidance. Additionally, the retainer's enveloping design ensures that balls remain securely contained even when the nut is withdrawn from the spline shaft.

Torque Transmission Capability

Compared to linear bearings, the angular contact of balls in the rolling groove allows relative motion between the nut and shaft, enabling torque transmission.

Integrated Structure

The integrated nut-bearing design achieves high precision and compact dimensions.

Lubrication Circuit

An optimized lubrication circuit directs grease directly to the ball recirculation point, enhancing lubrication efficiency and extending service life.

Applications

Industrial robots, automated loaders, laser processing machines, automated transport systems.

“Do you see over yonder, dear client, those tricky equipment bottlenecks, those wear-and-tear troubles that stall your production? I intend to arm your machines with genuine imported bearings—and stand by with technical support to slay every glitch that comes your way.”
