Performance:

For high-speed machine tools, hollow cooling within the screw alone is insufficient to counteract heat generation and thermal deformation during high-speed operation. This is because the nut itself becomes a heat source during high-speed rotation. Test results are shown in Figure 8.3 (under identical test conditions as described below). To ensure precision and longevity during high-speed operation, HIWIN recommends concurrently employing nut cooling and screw cooling (Cool Type I) to address the demanding conditions faced by ball screws at high speeds.
